A handmade pink plaid bear, one of the plushies students sew by hand

About us

High school students,
running a nonprofit.

Our mission

At Plushies with Purpose, our mission is to bring comfort and a sense of belonging to children in need through the art of repurposing and sewing stuffed animals. Our organization distributes donated plushies and hand-sewn plushies based on location.

We understand the significance of a cherished toy in a child’s life, so we craft and repurpose each plushie with love and care. All parts of the process are done by hand using recycled fabrics to bring new life into old materials.

By creating personalized stories attached to the plushies, we aim to create a unique and meaningful experience for every recipient. Through our distribution at food pantry drives, we strive to reach those who may not have access to such comforts, spreading warmth and happiness one plushie at a time.

What makes us different

Every plushie carries its own story.

01

A wild and silly backstory

Each handmade plushie comes with a personalized letter that describes the wild and silly backstory of the stuffed toy.

02

Written by hand, by a student

A high school student writes every letter. No two plushies arrive with the same story.

By creating personalized stories attached to the plushies, we aim to create a unique and meaningful experience for every recipient.
